14-year-old Dachena’s story is just one example of how sponsors like you are making a difference during this difficult time. Dachena lives in Haiti, a country that has been hit hard economically and politically by the pandemic. Before the outbreak, Haiti experienced political unrest, and the virus has made the situation that much more unstable and dangerous. Because of COVID-19, Dachena’s father hasn’t worked since March and has been impacted financially, and Dachena is afraid of what might come after the pandemic.
She says: “To all sponsors — and especially mine — my family and I send our solidarity. I wish you well.
”Thankfully, your support means that even though schools are closed and Dachena’s father is not working, she will continue to get necessary resources. We’re currently working on providing 169,204 families in Haiti with health and hygiene, food security and child protection; to ensure children like Dachena can continue to stay safe during this exceptionally challenging time.
Thank you for helping keep children around the world safe through this important time.
