Lebanon is in chaos. Families live in fear as bombs rain down on homes and hospitals. Air strikes have killed 2,100 people and injured 10,000 more in this brutal conflict. Every day, lives are shattered.
1.2 million people – thousands of them children – are now displaced, grappling with unimaginable loss and despair in a country barely larger than Greater Toronto. One in five people in Lebanon is without a home, food or the basic necessities to survive.
Help our team in Lebanon provide children and families with life-saving essentials like shelter, hygiene kits, cash assistance and trauma support.
Because of the extreme need for aid, the Government of Canada will match your donation dollar for dollar since September 24 to November 3, 2024. Your generosity will help us reach twice as many children in dire need.

Our Response
At Plan International, we’ve stood with children and young people in Lebanon since 2017, and your support has made all the difference. Since the conflict escalated in October 2023, we’ve reached over 28,000 displaced children and adults with urgent assistance.
Thanks to compassionate donors like you, we’ve distributed thousands of mattresses and blankets to families seeking shelter, provided thousands of litres of clean drinking water and delivered hundreds of kits filled with nutritious food, hygiene products and baby supplies.

The Government of Canada will match up to $3 million in individual donations to the Humanitarian Coalition and its 12 member organizations (including us). Donations made between September 24 and November 3, 2024, will be eligible for the match. For more information, please visit the Humanitarian Coalition website.
Individual tax receipts for one-time, online donations are emailed shortly after the donation. Tax receipts for recurring donations that total over $25 annually will be sent, via your preferred mailing method, in February of each year. Only official Plan International Canada receipts, featuring our business number, are valid for Canadian income tax purposes.
