Help people in poverty overcome barriers
Every parent wants their children to have a safe and healthy future. Yet around the world there are many families who don’t have access to essentials like health care and education. And the COVID-19 pandemic has made accessing resources even more challenging.
Closures of learning spaces have impacted up to 99% of students in low- and lower-middle-income countries. Girls who don’t have the opportunity to stay in school are at higher risk of experiencing gender-based violence, unplanned pregnancy, trafficking and child marriage. It’s estimated that due to the pandemic, there will be a one-third reduction in progress toward ending gender-based violence by 2030.
With your support, we can help children – especially girls – continue their education and access essential services and resources like health care. Because every child deserves to have access to basic human rights and become empowered.
3 ways your donation can help
Promotes free, equal access to quality education for all children
We work with children, their families, communities and governments and we advocate at both local and international levels so that all children – particularly girls, who are most at risk – can access education.
Supports action against gender-based violence
We work to educate families as well as empower them with livelihood opportunities so that the monetary incentive of child marriage isn’t used as a coping strategy during times of crisis.
Provides access to information on, and services for, sexual and reproductive health and rights
We work with teachers, parents, health-care providers and institutions to ensure that children get health-care information and can access the care and services they need whenever they need them.
Together, with the help of your donation, we can help families in high-risk communities overcome barriers and help their children pursue better futures.
