Every parent wants their children to have a safe and healthy future. Yet, around the world there are many families who don’t have access to basic nutrition, health care and education. The COVID-19 pandemic has made accessing resources even more challenging for families.
At the peak of the pandemic, over 1.5 billion children had their education disrupted. Girls who don’t have the opportunity to stay in school are at higher risk of gender-based violence, unplanned pregnancy, trafficking and child marriage. Due to the pandemic, it’s estimated that an additional 13 million child marriages could take place this decade.
With your support, we can help children, especially girls, continue their education and access essential nutrition and health care – because every child deserves to harness their rights and realize their full potential.
3 ways your donation helps make a difference for families
You help children access free equal, quality education.
Together, we work with children, their families, communities and local and international governments so that all children – particularly girls, who face greater threats outside of school – are able to access education.
You help advocate against gender-based violence.
Your donation will work to empower families with awareness as well as provide livelihood opportunities so that the financial incentive that comes with child marriage is not used as a coping strategy during times of crisis.
You help provide access to information on, and services for, sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Your support helps us partner with teachers, parents, health-care providers and institutions to ensure children can access the health information, care and services they need, when they need it.
