Join the Coalition of Global Corporate Partners Against Hunger
Did you attend our COP 28 panel? if so please fill in our post event survey.
Post COP 28 Panel SurveyOne child is being pushed into severe malnutrition every minute.
Eight million children are at risk of death in 15 crisis-affected countries unless they receive immediate treatment.
Globally, almost 50 million people are living in emergency or catastrophic levels of acute hunger. The world is in the grip of the most devastating hunger crisis in the past 75 years.
We know how to stop it.
With likeminded international and local partner organizations, we’ve been ringing the alarm for over a year.
We’ve declared a Red Alert and we’ve mobilized our entire global organization to fight the overlapping climate and hunger crisis.
The solutions to this overlapping climate and hunger crisis are not new. We collectively have expertise, experience and reach to prevent and address hunger. And these programs need to be scaled up significantly and immediately.
But government contributions are falling short, squeezed by inflationary pressures and COVID debt, while crisis fatigue is influencing public fundraising results.
Earlier this year, the World Food Programme announced that US$21.5 billion was needed to respond effectively. Already, this figure has grown. Yet only $4.5 billion has been committed.
This leaves a gap of at least $17 billion.
Enough of inaction.
Enough of empty.
Together we can reverse the crisis.
Join Plan International Canada and CARE Canada, two leading Canadian International NGOs, in working on the overlapping climate and hunger crisis.
We know corporations are engaging more on global issues through integrated supply chains, environmental, social and governance commitments, and employee engagement.
We know you are important global partners in addressing the world’s worst hunger crisis in decades.
We know that your ideas, knowledge and networks can help deliver a sustainable solution to this unfolding human tragedy.
We can all be part of the solution.
Will you join our Coalition in this urgent response?
Will you help us engage with other global corporate leaders on this unprecedented ask?
Will you share your expertise and work with us?
We need to build new powerful partnerships. 1> Local and global organisations working to combat climate crisis must join forces with those addressing hunger and gender inequality to make more effective change in the immediate and long term.
We will work in partnership with government agencies, frontline local partners, women’s groups, and community-based organizations.
We are rallying around evidenced based solutions to hunger, climate and gender inequality. We believe effective multi-stakeholder partnerships can be scaled for life saving work while building out sustainable solutions. Join us in supporting climate and gender smart multi-stakeholder partnerships that address agriculture, school feeding & nutrition, cash transfer and financial inclusion.
Together, we can scale up support immediately.
With global and national corporate partners, we can support significant increases to life-saving, climate smart solutions for women and girls – both immediate and medium-term.
Together we can scale up immediate and longer term proven solutions to support women and girls, and communities avoid devastating impacts of climate and hunger crisis. We’ll scale up immediate distribution of food assistance, vouchers or timely provision of cash to build resilience and avoid risky coping strategies that place women and girls at risk. We will increase climate smart school feeding programs that link women producers groups to school meals programs and promote climate smart practices in schools and on the farm. We’ll increase support for climate resilient and nature based solutions for food production, and support emergency preparedness to address the underlying causes of the hunger crisis.
Please consider joining this Coalition and engaging with me and Plan International to build out a A Movement Against Hunger.
