Plan International Canada welcomes new Chief Development and Marketing Officer

Industry veteran, Goodwin Gibson, joins Canada’s leading organization for children’s rights and equality for girls.

TORONTO, ON – Dec. 2, 2019 – Plan International Canada announced today that Goodwin Gibson has joined the organization as Chief Development and Marketing Officer. This unique new role was strategically created to ensure an innovative and transformational approach to fundraising closely tied to the development of creative and bold communications and marketing campaigns.

In this new position, Gibson will oversee Plan International Canada’s Philanthropy, Communications and Marketing departments. With over 35 years of experience in the marketing industry, Gibson brings his strategic skillset, passion for disruption and knack for finding innovative solutions to complex challenges to the organization’s senior leadership team. His digital and direct marketing expertise and proven ability to lead business transformation, build best-in-class teams and drive exceptional results will play a critical role in the execution of Plan’s digital marketing and brand strategies.

Goodwin Gibson brings vast experience to Plan International Canada, previously occupying executive leadership positions at marketing agencies MRM McCann and Cossette. Most recently, Gibson served as Senior Vice President, Donor Relations and Marketing at the United Way Greater Toronto, where he played an integral role in the development of the organizations new brand strategy focused on local love impacting local lives and the #Unignorable digital first national advertising campaign bringing attention to the pervasive but often hard to see issue of local poverty. #Unignorable was recently named the 2019 Campaign of the Year by Strategy - Canada’s leading marketing publication.
