Strengthening Health Outcomes for Women and Girls

Every day, over 800 women and girls die from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. Tackling gender inequality would improve the overall health of women and girls around the world and result in fewer deaths. Our work to make sexual and reproductive health and rights education and services more accessible and tackling the root causes of gender inequality helps women and girls make informed decisions about their bodies and the health of their children.

Through our Strengthening Health Outcomes for Women and Children (SHOW) project we are changing the unequal power relations that keep women and girls from exercising their right to health. We work with the entire community and engage community leaders, governments, women, men, adolescents and train health care workers. We also facilitate adolescent peer groups that provide training and a safe space to discuss topics like gender inequality, gender-based violence and child, early and forced marriage.
