Plan Canada President and CEO Named Canada’s Ambassador to the United Nations

Process for appointment of successor is underway

TORONTO, June 8, 2015 – Plan Canada announced that after almost 10 years as President and CEO, Rosemary McCarney will be leaving the organization to become the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Canada to the Office of the United Nations and the United Nations Conference on Disarmament, as of September 2015.

“Plan Canada has seen tremendous growth and diversification under Rosemary’s leadership as we work to improve the lives of children around the world,” said Karen Jackson, Chair, Plan Canada’s Board of Directors. “We are very grateful for Rosemary’s many contributions to Plan Canada and wish her much success in the next chapter of her career.”

Plan Canada’s Board of Directors has activated its succession process and is committed to finding a candidate who is both an experienced professional and deeply dedicated to Plan’s international development work on behalf of children.
