Plan International Canada to Participate in The Art of Leadership for Women Conference with Malala Yousafzai

March 21, 2019 – On April 4 and 5, 2019, The Art of Leadership for Women conference will bring together today's brightest women leaders in Calgary and Vancouver, including Caroline Riseboro, Plan International Canada President and CEO, who will interview keynote speaker Malala Yousafzai, to discuss the topics and trends most critical to female leaders and the importance of tapping into youth-led change.

Malala Yousafzai is renowned for her significant activism from an early age, and her name is synonymous with being a champion of girls’ rights. She has shown the world that youth are at the forefront of change – and that it’s up to everyone to listen to and empower these young leaders.

According to a recent Plan International Canada survey, only 38 per cent of women in Canada aged 18-24 believe they have the same opportunity as men to lead. However, when we commit to supporting young women and amplifying their voices, they can defy the status quo – and create meaningful change.

Together, Riseboro and Yousafzai will discuss how gender inequality affects women’s opportunities to lead, what authentic female empowerment looks like, how to harness personal strengths and build confidence, and how to transform ambitions into reality.
