Join us to Defy Normal for girls worldwide

We have come to accept it as ‘normal’ that every day in Canada and around the world, girls and young women are denied equality.

We will accept it no more.

Plan International Canada is calling on Canadians to defy this normal, because it is a girl’s right to be equal.

This year, on International Day of the Girl, we’re celebrating Defiant Girls – those who dare to Defy Normal each day and fight for girls’ rights and gender equality!

Join us by posting a photo of yourself in a defiant pose on social media and tell @PlanCanada how you will #DefyNormal for girls worldwide.

Plan International Canada led the global movement to make International Day of the Girl a reality, garnering all-party support from the Canadian Parliament and the United Nations. Since 2012, we have celebrated it annually, igniting a global mass movement to amplify girls’ voices, advocate for their rights, and elevate their position in society.
