You're helping build a stronger community

Our generous community sponsors have been long-time catalysts for community change in Volta, Ghana. Pre-COVID-19 pandemic, the people of Volta were working hard to build better schools, health centres, and sanitation practices through the supporting projects you made possible – all of which have proven vital to date.

Access to clean water has reduced the incidence of bilharzia and other waterborne diseases, and the community has been educated on good sanitation practices, personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness. You also helped bring about new latrines and handwashing stations along with the first-ever health facility. Before the true impact of the pandemic was felt, these communities were informed and had access to the tools required to take preventative and proactive actions that help ensure children can grow up in safety, specifically during emergencies.

None of us could have seen this pandemic coming or predict the setbacks to follow, but today, we are grateful that sustainable change was implemented before it hit, and that’s thanks to our incredible donors. And thanks to the continued, vital partnership of sponsors, we’ll continue to see to it, to help protect, save and improve the lives of children and families in need.

Surrounded by sponsor-supported health improvements like clinic builds, community vaccination sessions and health trainings, see what the children of Volta have been inspired to work towards as they look ahead to more opportunity-filled futures and a better world to come...

empowering tomorrow’s first responders:

Young pregnant girl
I want to help sick people to recover when I grow up. My hope and dream is to be a nurse.
Dorcas, 8
When I grow up, I would like to be a medical doctor. This is because I admire doctors a lot. I hope to buy my own car in the future and make trips to different parts of the country.
Daniel, 11

And, with sponsors helping create a more safe, encouraging and empowering environment, no matter what comes their way, they are gaining the supports they need to get there.

Thank you for taking this journey with us to help the most vulnerable communities across the globe protect children, access and promote equal rights and become sustainable. Your ongoing help is maintaining powerful change with impacts felt through the furthest reaching corners of these communities, but we still have a long way to go to stop any further setbacks. Thank you for continuting to help reach those most in need, so someday dreams become planned-for certainties.
