Michael Waring becomes lead donor in Hoang Su Phi

No stranger to international development, Michael Waring became involved with Plan 11 years ago when he sponsored a child in Vietnam.

Throughout his tenure with Plan, he has contributed to many school building projects primarily in southeast Asia, but this endeavour is by far his greatest both fiscally and personally.

Michael knows the difference these community projects make for the children. “I have travelled to many developing countries and have seen for myself Plan’s work in action,” he says.

Over the next four years Michael’s gift will primarily be channelled towards education initiatives in Hoang Su Phi. It will also contribute to improving health, water/sanitation, and child protection.

“Plan has the expertise to help transform the lives of children,” says Michael. “Of that, I have no doubt.”

We are proud to showcase Michael as our founding donor, and have compiled some images of his trip to the community in May 2010.
