Anna Silk

  Anna Silk

Motherhood is what inspired actor Anna Silk to join Plan International Canada as a Celebrated Ambassador.

When I had my first son and was in the hospital surrounded by everything I needed for us both to stay healthy – doctors, nurses, medicine, equipment, etc. – it hit me how lucky I was. Millions of women and girls around the world don’t have access to the health resources they need.

Over the years, Anna has passionately raised her voice in support of Plan International Canada. Most notably, she has attended International Day of the Girl celebrations and shares captivating issues on social media. True to her original inspiration, she is also an ardent supporter of Plan International Canada’s work to advance maternal, newborn and child health in developing countries.

In her career, Anna divides her time between the big and small screens. Most recently, she starred as the lead character ‘Bo’ on the hit series Lost Girl, which airs in more than 100 countries and earned her Fan Choice at the 2015 Canada Screen Awards. The Fredericton, New Brunswick native is also known for her Gemini-nominated role as ‘Cassidy’ on the popular Canadian series Being Erica. Her film credits include Assassin’s Tale, Breakfast with Scot, Do Not Bend, Where the Truth Lies and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.

An actor since her stage debut as a squirrel in a local production of Hansel and Gretel at six-years-old, Anna is now set to star on Blood & Treasure, which premieres on CBS.
