Water wells of hope
Each day, Eva, aged 9, used to wake up in Paraguay to wash her face, eat breakfast and walk to a well to haul out buckets of water for her and her family. Lugging around water played a large, heavy role in her life. In the summer, when the well dried up, she and her mother would walk or hitch a wagon ride to the next community to get water. And all these water sources were unclean. Thanks to a Plan-supported project, Eva’s family and community now have running water in their homes. “I want to drink delicious water,” Eva said. She and her community – and thousands of others like them – no longer have to haul water, thanks to partners who supported them.
