Plan’s 75th anniversary

Plan is celebrating a major milestone - the 75th anniversary of our commitment to children! In 1937, we started out providing relief to children affected by the Spanish Civil War. Today, Plan helps more than 56.5 million children across 50 developing countries.

Sponsorship is the key to building relationships between donors, communities and our 1.5 million sponsored children.

This is also an important year for Plan’s Because I am a Girl initiative which promotes girls’ rights and works to lift millions of girls out of poverty. On October 11, we’ll celebrate the first annual International Day of the Girl Child which was adopted by the UN in late December 2011.
