Plan International has worked in India since 1979, helping disadvantaged children access their rights to education, health, economic security, protection and participation. We work in 11 states in India and have directly impacted the lives of more than 1,000,000 children and their families.
Plan International India focuses on marginalized communities, including farmers with small land holdings, labourers, fishermen, weavers, ethnic groups and hill tribes. We also help urban communities in difficult circumstances, including street children, children with disabilities and children orphaned by AIDS.
