Plan Canada Global Education Program
The "Kids Who Care"
materials develop themes of cross-cultural communication,
friends, citizenship and environmental sustainability. This
resource can be used to satisfy specific curriculum requirements
and can be used in leadership-building or extra-curricular
programs that involve children in supplementary activities
in their local communities.

Key aspects of global education in the "Kids Who Care"
program are:
- a focus on common issues and challenges
- a belief that knowledge of global
conditions and trends has to be complemented by relevant
analysis and action
- the need for people to participate
actively in finding appropriate solutions and in seeking
personal fulfilment in doing so
- the importance of dialogue between
diverse cultural and social groups
- the promotion of the Rights of
the Child
