Meet Keita

Title: Community health care worker

What will be your involvement with this project?

I will be responsible for screening children for malnutrition and other illnesses and well as speaking to families about the importance of vaccinations and balanced nutrition, especially for pregnant mothers and young children.

Why this project is so important to help this community out of poverty?

Advocacy leads to social cohesion, awareness of the community on the health of children and happy, healthy kids. Health is the basis of all development and a solution to the fight against poverty.

Meet Dagnon

Title: Nurse obstetrician

What will be your involvement with this project?

I will assist mothers during childbirth and provide pre-natal and post-natal care.

Why did you decide to get involved with this project?

The health of the mother and child is very important to the community. It is difficult to watch infants and mothers dying due to the lack of proper care. I hope as a community we can provide the education and awareness needed to encourage these mothers to seek proper medical care to reduce neo-natal and infant mortality.

Meet Soumalia

Title: Community volunteer

What will be your involvement with this project?

I am responsible for producing the communication materials to share with our donors. I take photographs, track the projects and interview community members.

Why did you decide to get involved in the project?

I want to help my community and give back. This is a good opportunity for me to learn about things I am interested in like promoting children’s rights, the importance of educating girls and women and fighting against the discrimination they face every day.
