Thank you from Zimbabwe
This spring, with your support, Plan sent a shipment of medical supplies and equipment to rural health clinics in Zimbabwe to help improve care for thousands of local women and children. A few weeks later, to our delight, we heard back about the profound difference made in the life of one mother and infant.
In a letter from the staff at the Chisuko clinic, we learned that a woman had arrived in the middle of the night and given birth. Her baby wasn’t breathing. But using the equipment they had received just days before, health care workers acted quickly to resuscitate the newborn.
“The [medical equipment] was used for cleaning the baby’s airway,” wrote a staff member, “and it was successful. So thank you for the program. It saved a life as it helped the baby to breathe.”
