They are simple interventions – vaccinations, mosquito nets, rehydration fluids and common medications – but without them, millions of children die each year.

Plan helps communities build clinics, train health care workers and invest in equipment and medicine so children can survive and grow up healthy and strong.

We also focus on maternal and reproductive health for girls and women to ensure mothers stay healthy too because when they do, their children are three times more likely to survive.

For example, in the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Plan has organized camps to train traditional birth attendants, resulting in a marked decrease in infant and maternal mortality rates.
