Plan’s work wouldn’t be possible without our wide range of partnerships, from citizens, companies, and coalitions to the government of Canada. Below is an overview of our partners.
Donors
Plan's work wouldn't be possible without over one million donors worldwide. Our donors are partners in our global movement for change, supporting social justice for children in developing countries. Donors give in many ways, but more than 70 per cent of Plan’s funding comes from child sponsorship, which allows us to plan and carry out long-term development projects.

Plan Canada welcomes contributions, big or small. We also work with individuals who are interested in creating long term philanthropic goals. We are proud to have prominent Canadians in our Plan Canada family. Plan works with a number of Canadian celebrities, including Olympic Gold Medalist Jennifer Heil, broadcasters Rod Black and Lisa LaFlamme, Prima Ballerina Karen Kain, actor Lisa Ray, and recording artists George, Masia One, and Eternia.
Corporate partners
Corporations have a critical role to play in helping Plan to promote child rights and lift millions of children out of poverty. Now working together with close to 200 companies, we are proud to call companies such as BIRKS, Olsen Europe, UNIGLOBE Western Travel and Danier Leather our partners.
Visit our corporate partners section to find out more about how we work with companies and their employees.
Canadian International Development Agency
Plan Canada has been a partner of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) since 1974. CIDA is the Canadian government’s lead agency for international development assistance.
CIDA’s aim is to reduce poverty, promote human rights and support sustainable development. Established in 1968 to administer the bulk of Canada’s official development assistance (ODA) program, the measure of its success lies in its contribution to the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Canada’s broader international policy objectives. CIDA works with development partners, fragile states and countries in crisis, selected countries and regions, and the Canadian population and institutions.

Plan works with like-minded coalitions of organizations to influence policy decisions, raise awareness and build support within government departments for progressive policies related to Plan’s work. Click here to find out more about the coalitions we belong to and the groups we work with.
