Regional Municipality of Niagara: Emergency outreach

PAZAPA means “step by step” in Haitian Creole, and step by step PAZAPA has been making a difference in the lives of children with a disability. PAZAPA’s mission is to support the treatment, education, and development of children with disabilities, and to integrate them in to the community at large.

The Regional Municipality of Niagara’s support is helping to rebuild the PAZAPA Centre that was destroyed by the devastating earthquake on January 12, 2010.

The ball got rolling in support of PAZAPA just days after the Haiti earthquake. The Regional Municipality of Niagara Council passed a charitable resolution to fund a project improving the well-being of children in Haiti.

The Canadian Association Step by Step and Haitians of Niagara became involved as the municipality challenged others to join in the partnership.
