Recovery in Haiti
Rebuilding Haiti
The 7.0 earthquake that struck on January 12th has dealt a devastating blow to Haiti, already the poorest country in the Western hemisphere.
What Plan is doing
Plan has been working in Haiti since 1973 and is one of the country’s oldest and largest international aid agencies. Our experience and long-term presence in Haiti means we could respond with emergency relief immediately after the earthquake hit, and that we are remaining in the country to rebuild for the future.
See how Haitians and Plan are working together to recover and rebuild. View our photo slideshow narrated by Plan’s disaster expert Roger Yates, who gives an overview six months after the quake.
Read a heartfelt message and thank-you from Plan Haiti's Country Director, Jo-Ann Garnier-Lafontant.
Our main focus right now is on helping children and their families build strong, resilient communities and create a better future for all Haitians.
