June 11, 2010 - Saturday is the 5-month anniversary of the Haiti earthquake. Everyday since the quake Plan has been on the ground with our incredible Haitian Plan team working to protect and heal children, rebuild their schools, and give people purpose through paid work programs.

Tropical storm Agatha devastates Central America

June 4, 2010 - Agatha, the first-named storm during the 2010 Pacific hurricane season, hit El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras on Saturday, devastating the region with torrential rains, massive floods and landslides. Plan’s emergency response is focusing on health, child protection in the camps for displaced people and psychosocial support for children emotionally affected by the disaster. May 14, 2010 - For educators in Haiti, the requirement to get children back to school is proving a huge challenge. And for post-quake youth the need is urgent, because school is a place to heal, a sanctuary. Right now Plan is working with Haitian educators, using psychosocial training, to facilitate healing in the classroom and generate discussion.

May 04, 2010 - In rural Zambia, women often can’t feed their children as well as they would like because they lack basic knowledge about nutrition and food preparation skills. A Plan survey found that 50 per cent of rural children, aged 36 months to 6 years, were underweight and suffered from poor nutritional health.
